Affiliate Disclosure
Effective date: 16 October 2026
Hollow Tier is free to read and carries no advertising. It is paid for by commission on affiliate links. This page explains exactly how that works, because a reader deciding whether to trust a page is entitled to know who pays for it.
What an affiliate link is here
An affiliate link is an ordinary link with a tracking address, operated by a network that sits between a website's publisher and the company being linked to. When somebody follows it and does a particular thing at the other end, the network records that and pays a commission.
On this site the particular thing is sign-up. GO-SERVIS group s.r.o. is paid a commission when a reader follows the link and goes on to create and activate an account with the game vendor. That is the whole arrangement: no payment for a click, no payment for reading, and no share of anything you might later spend inside a game.
What it costs you
Nothing. The commission is paid by the affiliate network out of its arrangement with the vendor. Following a link from here does not change the price of anything, what is offered to you, or the terms you are given. You can reach the same vendor by typing its address into your browser instead, and nothing will differ — except that this site will not be paid.
Where the links appear
There is one affiliate destination on this site, and it is used on five pages: the five step pages of the course. Each occurrence carries a line of disclosure directly beside it, in ordinary body text, saying that it is a paid link and what the publisher is paid for. There are no affiliate links in the checklists, on the About page, on the Contact page, or on any of the legal pages, and none anywhere on this site is disguised as something else. Every one of them opens in a new tab, is marked as sponsored so that search engines treat it correctly, and points directly at the destination — there is no redirect of our own in between, nothing is rewritten when you click, and the address you see is the address you go to.
What the commission does not decide
It does not decide what the course says. The five steps, their order, the explanations and all seventy-five checklist items were written as the subject required and would be word for word the same with every link removed. You can work through the entire course, start to finish, without following any of them, and the course is written on the assumption that many readers will.
It does not decide whether something is described as good. No product is rated, scored, ranked or recommended on this site. No tests have been run here, no benchmarks exist, and none are claimed.
What does decide the content
Three things. The order of the steps is decided by the order in which the decisions actually arrive for a beginner. The substance of each step is decided by the sources described in the editorial method on the About page: Australian government publications for anything touching classification, privacy, consumer rights, safety or scams; the vendor's own documentation for anything specific to a product; and general technical practice for everything that holds across the whole category. And the limits are decided by what can be stated honestly — where a fact about a named product is not available from its vendor, the course says so instead of guessing.
Which product is named, and why
One product is named in the course: World of Warships, an online game published for Windows and Mac desktops. It appears because the publisher of this site has a commercial relationship with the affiliate network that promotes it. That is the honest reason, stated here and repeated on the About page rather than left to be inferred.
Being named is not an endorsement, and the course takes some care to keep the two apart. What is said about that product here comes from what its network states — a single opt-in, a download, and creating and activating an account — and nothing more is asserted. Whether it suits you is a question for the vendor's own website and for the checklists in this course, which are written to be applied to any game in this category.
Trademarks
All brand names on Hollow Tier, World of Warships among them, are the property of their owners. Except for the paid affiliate links described on our funding page, none of those owners is affiliated with Hollow Tier, and none has endorsed or sponsored it.
